Have you ever wanted to learn how to write a fairy tale? Have you ever wanted to LIVE a fairy tale?
I am a domainer from way back. What is a domainer? I'm not sure about all others domainers, but I purchase domain names that catch my eye ~ then I wait for a muse to visit me to help populate my “wanna be domains”. This had not been working out too well, until one day I happened across ~this~ domain name. What better place for a muse to live than PixieHome :-)
... And I just realized I have Wanna Life also :-) so ~ YAY!!! anyway ...
Populating this domain name (along with several other domains) I ran across a book … while this book is about how to create stories for children it is also a LOT about how to create the life YOU were meant to live. (maybe you will not pull from it the same learning - but what you need to discover you shall ... even if not first you understand ;-)
This book is a great step in that direction. It demonstrates different ways to make a fairy tale stand out from the crowd and make an editor want to read – buy and publish – and then have children young and old clamoring to read it?
Book One shows 44 ways to fracture a fairy tale – ONE fairy tale is restructured and presented 44 different ways. It shows how easy it is to present a completely different story just by changing a point of view and asking WHY?
In this book Steve gives each new imagining of the fairy tale “The Three Little Pigs” a title of its own. A sample of which are:
- My Story, by B.B. Wolf
- A Little Pigs Guide to Not Getting Eaten
- The Wolf Strikes at Midnight
- Sister Pig
Book Two covers 22 different ways in which to re-think a story by examining things such as viewpoint, setting, character, plot, character actions and style. 22 Ways is the masters program of “What If” thinking.
This is how the real world works and once we begin to understand how truly easy it is to change our point of view – all sorts of wild and crazy things are open (hopin'?) to occur.
I see the pixies ARE alive and well as I work my way around the Internet populating my new domain names.
Links in this article after "Wanna a Life" are to Steve's book - of which if you purchase, Pixie Home recieves a portion, so thank you if you purchase the book through this link, and may fairy dust be at your beck and call ;-)
